Hello and Welcome! I am so glad you stopped by. My name is Melanie Graves and I am the Owner/Coordinator of The Chick In Charge Events. I have loved hosting parties for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, my birthday parties were always a blast and I never worried about a thing (thanks Mom!). As an adult, I began to realize that there is so much to do behind the scenes, to have each event go off without a hitch. It can be overwhelming and exhausting! When my good friends came to me in June 2018 and asked me to be in charge of day-of-coordination, I jumped at the chance. There was no better feeling than knowing that my friends got to completely enjoy the day they had planned. Not to mention, the families got to enjoy themselves even more, knowing I was in charge.
It takes a particular person to ask the right questions, be organized amid potential chaos and get the job done, without anyone knowing things may have gotten off course. I started this business because I want to be that particular person for you. I want you to benefit from my gift of organization and controlled chaos. When you see your event, I want you to envision yourself having the time of your life. Worrying about the caterers, the Dj, the decorating or any little detail or final touch should be left up to me. And the best part? You can breathe a little easier knowing “I've got this”.

“A special round of apaws is due to Melanie G, Volunteer and owner of “The Chick in Charge Events”. She volunteered her services for the Bowling party by procuring $650 worth of donations for our door prizes. Each Volunteer got a free raffle ticket and had the opportunity to purchase more. We sold $235 additional tickets at the party that will go towards the Shelter Dreams Fund for a new animal shelter. Volunteers were all eager to win the $300 Blazer vs Bulls tickets that were donated. Melanie started volunteering in 2013 and is the parent of Sadie, a pittie that has been in almost every Pitties in Pink parade since the start. Her event business is new and she is very excited to help all that she can.”
